Is There A Future For The Small E-entrepreneur
Having a look at a few of the forums these days this question has been coming up a lot. I don’t know, “Is There A Future For The Small E-entrepreneur”?
I haven’t been into internet marketing as long as many others and I surely don’t remember “the good ole days” when you could throw up a rubbish 5 page website and make a ton of money. It would have been nice to be around at that time since I believe the early birds that stuck at are truely reeping the benefits now. Good luck to them I say.
Things are very much different today than they were just two years ago. Big business has now recognised that the internet isn’t just some passing fad and are now taking it very seriously indeed. In fact you can name the amount of large companies without a blog on one hand.
Over the past few years, there’s been a massive shift in the amount of big business even entering the ebay arena, bulldosing their way into the electrical market and general household goods sectors. So the question is, can the small guy survive. In a word YES!
Just as it is in the offline world, we, and I mean fellow e-entreprenuer’s have to adapt and change in a increasingly changing market. In other words if you stay still you’re as good as going backwards. The key is to seek out new markets, new strategies and new opportunities. For example, the move into video marketing was huge in 2007 and in 2008 it looks to take off like a rocket ship.
I’ve completed a small collection of video clips for various items and affiliate schemes I’ve been promoting and got approached by a small local company to produce some small video clips for them too!
To be honest, and trying not to sound to big headed, I haven’t really got the time to work on anyone else’s product since I’m concentrating on growing my own online business, but this highlights new opportunities that have arisen out of nowhere. I suppose it’s just a case of thinking out of the box.
“Is There A Future For The Small E-entrepreneur”? Most definately. I don’t have the statistics to hand, but there’s still a significant amount of new prospects using the internet daily, and I haven’t even touched on the web 2.0 opportunities.
