Not getting enough traffic for your biz. Then this list is for you!!

“My 25 Best Traffic Sources For 2012 – How To Increase Traffic To Your Blog or Website”

These are my 25 Best Traffic sources For 2012. This is a list of the best traffic sources that worked for me really well in 2011 and I intend to rinse and repeat the hell out of them going forward into 2012.

I’m posting this now so you can make a start and test them out for yourself. This will hopefully give you the early mover advantage :)

Even a donkey can implement these traffic sources

Why is traffic so important to us in 2012? Simply put, Google is making it harder for spammers and rewarding the ones willing to put in that extra work (so take that spammers). What would you rather? Produce great content that people enjoy, use and share without the worry of Google trying to determine whether your content is spam crap? Or do you want to play Russian Roulette with the algorithm with a 50/50 chance of your stuff ranking or being deleted from Google forever? I know which one I’d choose.

Disclaimer: These are traffic sources I’ve tested and have work for me. There’s no guarantee they’ll work for you and whatever niche you’re entering (If you sue, I’ll plead the 5th).

These sources are based on using WordPress as a content management system (CMS) platform. I haven’t tested them with any other CMS system.

1. Test all traffic sources for each niche WordPress blog and track where your traffic is coming from. I use a variety of different plugins for different sites:

Slimstat is a free plugin I use which can be downloaded from here: http://slimstat.net/download

I also use: Ranktracker which is an id plugin which you can get from here: http://ranktrackerplugin.com/. This plugin shouldn’t break the bank :)

This is old skool, but still works like a charm. That’s why it’s at the top of my list.

“Infographics Are Sooooo Cool”

2. “Infographics” were big in 2011, in 2012 – these will be huuuuuuge!! I’m definitely going to get more of these produced for all my niche sites. So, what is exactly is a infographic – have a look below:

I copied this from http://www.coolinfographics.com/

“Kind of cool eh?

Now, if you’re a whizz on Photoshop, you can produce these  types of graphics yourself. I’m not, unfortunately, so I outsource to graphic designers and have often used Fiverr.com or Odesk.com. Simply type in “infographic” and you’ll get a nice list of designers willing to do this for you.

Why am I using these? Quite simply, your readers love to see these, are more likely to retweet them and also share them with friends and colleagues, – this gives you a great viral effect of getting your content shared around the web at break-neck speed. They’ll also copy and paste them onto their own sites and blogs, which again gives you a dofollow back to your site. This type of link is like gold dust and will provide you with a nice steady flow of traffic for months, if not years, to come. This one’s right a the top of my to-do list…

If there are any entrepreneurs out there that can either produce these or can get them made quite cheaply, you’re gonna do a roaring trade in 2012. I’ll bet my hat on it (and it’s an expensive one ;) . Set it up as a Warrior Service or even a Fiverr one and you’ll do really well.

3. People love 10 ways to do this, 25 ways to do that (this post being an a great example).

They’re more likely to comment, re-tweet and link back to these too. Obviously, you have to deliver great content, that sorta goes without saying. However, if done correctly, this can be the most powerful technique in your arsenal. Word of warning: This takes work and research!

I’m gonna try to do at least one of these types of post or articles for my sites per month.

    Thanks for the nice comments.

You’re a “photgraphy man”, so you know how important it is to use graphics or images in any presentation.

I hope the photography biz is going well?

Wow Desmond, so amazing information on this one!

I really liked the tip about infographics as I have never used those before.

Also the tip about driving people from YouTube from shorter videos to longer videos on-site was SPOT ON for a new niche I want to dive in, so thanks!

I also found very interesting your Web2PDF service mentioned and the article in general is top notch!
