Did you know that if they do this, it’ll make your site run a lot slower?
Scary eh! (well to me anyway)
It basically means that when Google runs a site analysis on the speed of your site and it’s running slower than your competition, it’ll downgrade your site in a heartbeat.
With the new updates, site loading speed is highly rated when it comes to client satisfaction. Basically, people are so short of time these days, they won’t wait that extra 2 seconds for your site to load.

The little blighters! Do people actually do this? How much does amazon s3 cost? I have resisted putting my photos on an s3 account because of the cost (which I’m making up in my head) and the faff of linking to it. I would like you to do a quick post or vid on having an s3 account if that’s something you know about.
Cheers Des

Hey Ian,
Hope you’re well buddy?
Yeah, I’ll look into doing a video on S3 if I get a chance which I’m loving at the moment.
I won’t lie, uploading to Amazon is a royal pain in the ass, but with so much going on with Google’s updates, I’ve had to force myself to use them.
After a few months, I can see some of the benefits.
I’ve got a few big launches coming out in the new year which will all be continuity and all of them will be streaming videos. I think with band width usage increasing by the day, most people won’t have any choice but to change their ways.
Thanks for your comment mate.
How’s your business going btw?
Hey Des,
Thanks for visiting my blog the other day
Hey Andy,
Thanks for stopping by. I don’t know if it’s a massive problem, I do however get the bulk of my traffic from Google images since I’ve got a few 2012 pictures. When I follow the route back, they don’t stream it on their own servers, instead they use my URL location.
I’m not too bothered since I stream the vast majority of my pics with Amazon S3. However, for those that upload pics into a directory on their blog may have some problems later on down the road.
With new Panda update(s) they’re putting a lot of focus on experience for the reader. Slow loading pages is a big no, no I’m afraid.
Cheers,
Des
